New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted approval for Indigo Airlines to initiate direct flights between Delhi and Tashkent starting from September 6th.

A high-ranking official from DGCA has confirmed that IndiGo has been granted the green light to operate flights between Delhi and Tashkent on a four-day-a-week schedule.

IndiGo has communicated that it will run non-stop flights four days a week connecting Delhi and Tashkent, catering to the growing demand for travel to this bustling metropolis. This direct air link is expected not only to boost trade but also to foster stronger economic and cultural bonds between India and Uzbekistan.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We are delighted to introduce the splendid inclusion of Tashkent, the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, as the 31st addition to our 6E international network. With its rich cultural heritage and historical significance as a key stop along the Great Silk Road, Tashkent invites travelers to explore timeless marvels nestled at the core of Central Asia."

In a simultaneous announcement, IndiGo has also revealed the addition of Almaty, Kazakhstan, to its expanding list of international destinations.
