Rescue operations are going on to fine the people who might be alive from the wreckage. Till now 96 dead bodies have been recovered from the devastation caused by the quake, in the Aceh province of Indonesia. Hundreds of them have suffered severe wounds and many buildings are completely destroyed including houses of many residents.
Social organization named, CARE' s director Helen Vanwel said, "It will take several more days to get a full picture of the impact, We know from experience that after an earthquake of such a scale, people urgently need water, shelter, food and medicine,".
Indonesian government reported death toll has increased from 18 to 96 and around 8,000 people are displaced till now. They have declared a two week emergency period in the Aceh province.
