Recently Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway (HSR) No. 2 Tunnel construction site on Monday to inspecct the progress.

President Widodo said even after having many challenges like as complicated geological conditions and the pandemic, development on the Jakarta-Bandung HSR is continuing well, and the project is expected to be completed in June 2023. He believes that all construction officials would work together to promote high-quality building and to show Indonesia and China's accomplishments and collaboration at the G20 conference later this year.

President Widodo is inspecting the Jakarta-Bandung HSR for the second time. The No. 2 Tunnel, which has been examined, is a single-hole, double-track tunnel with a total length of 1,052 metres, of which about 70% has been excavated.

The Jakarta-Bandung HSR began construction in June 2018, with 91.2 percent of the civil works finished. Station construction and track laying are on schedule, with 30 of the 38 continuous beams in the entire alignment closed and 10 of the 13 tunnels completed.
