Brazilian great football player Ronaldo has recently shared his experiences. He has said that injuries have made him better as a human being and a player. However, these injuries also shortened his career. The two-time World Cup winner was at the top of his career when he suffered serious knee injuries twice within five months. During this time he was playing for Inter Milan.

It took him two years to recover from these injuries and he joined the Brazilian national team just before the 2002 World Cup. In this World Cup, he scored eight goals and helped to make the team the winner. A news agency quoted Ronaldo's Instagram interview with former Argentina midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron as saying, "I would have preferred to stay away from injuries but they changed my life. Injuries made me a better person and more responsible and disciplined."

Ronaldo suffered another injury in 2008. He was then playing for AC Milan and the injury ended his career in Europe. He said, "If there were no injuries, I would have played for four more years. But it served as a warning and a wake-up call for me. I can only be thankful to the injuries. I had a great career. I played with many great players."
