The Indian Premier League is just four days away and all the teams are fighting it out hard to dominate the next two months of cricket in the scorching Indian summer. The upcoming edition of IPL promises to be a big affair. IPL has been a pool of records. In its long history of ten years, IPL has witnessed many records being broken. Thus, let us have a look at five IPL records that are expected to be shattered by the end of the season.

5. Most stumping in the history of IPL

The possibility of Dinesh Karthik keeping the wickets for KKR this year is very high and it is expected that he might break MS Dhoni’s most stumping record. Currently, MS Dhoni stands second on the list with 30 IPL stumpings. While Dinesh Karthik (26), Wriddhiman Saha (17), and Adam Gilchrist (16) take the third, fourth, and fifth spot respectively.

4. Most Century in the IPL

Chris Gayle holds the record of most centuries (Five) in the history of IPL. However, with Chris Gayle not in great form, the record is expected to be broken in the upcoming edition of IPL. Virat Kohli acquires the second place in the list with four IPL centuries to his name. While David Warner (3), AB de Villiers (3), and Brendon McCullum (2) fill in the third, fourth, and fifth place respectively.

3. Highest successful run chase

The first edition of IPL witnessed the highest successful run chase ever which hasn’t been broken yet. The Deccan Chargers (DC) had to face defeat even after a compelling hundred by Symonds (117 off 53) which propelled their score to 211 after 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals chase down the target with seven wicket down against Deccan Chargers in 2008.

2. Most wickets in the IPL

The right-arm fast bowler from Srilanka, Lasith Malinga, is the highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL. Malinga tops the table with 154 IPL wickets to his name from 110 matches. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra holds the second place on the list with 134 IPL wickets. While Harbhajan Singh (127 wickets), Piyush Chawla (126 wickets), and Dwayne Bravo (122 wickets) take the third, fourth, and fifth position on the list respectively.

1. Most Runs in the IPL

Suresh Raina often touted as Mr. IPL, dons the record of most runs in the history of IPL. Raina, with 4540 IPL runs, acquires the first place in the list. Virat Kohli stands second on the list with 4418 IPL runs to his name. While Rohit Sharma (4207), Gautam Gambhir (4132), and David Warner (4014) acquire the third, fourth, and fifth position in the list respectively.
