Washington: Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in the world. Now the International Labor Organization (ILO) has warned that this could deepen the economic crisis worldwide and the jobs of about 25 million people could be lost if the governments do not take fast steps. The ILO said on Wednesday that, 'The coronavirus COVID-19 epidemic could trigger an international economic crisis and the jobs of around 25 million people worldwide if governments did not take immediate steps to save workers from its effects.'

However, the ILO also stated that 'if global policy steps were taken in a coordinated manner as during the 2008-09 recession, unemployment could be reduced'.
