The upcoming introduction of Vande Bharat sleeper trains on long-distance routes by the Narendra Modi-led BJP government has sparked great anticipation among railway enthusiasts. The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, under the guidance of Union railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, is diligently working towards finalizing the design for the sleeper variant of Vande Bharat trains. He further mentioned that the initial few trains are projected to be ready by March 2024, paving the way for an exciting new era in rail transportation.
The Three Formats of Vande Bharat Trains: In an effort to cater to different travel distances, Vande Bharat trains will be available in three distinct formats: Vande Metro, Vande Chair Car, and Vande Sleepers. These formats are specifically tailored to meet the needs of various journey lengths. Minister Vaishnaw revealed that all three formats are slated to be ready for service by February-March of the upcoming year.

Vande Metro is designed for journeys spanning less than 100 kilometers, offering a swift and convenient mode of transportation for shorter distances. Vande Chair Car, on the other hand, caters to travel distances ranging from 100 to 550 kilometers, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable ride. For longer journeys exceeding 550 kilometers, Vande Sleepers will provide an indulgent experience with cozy sleeping accommodations, making overnight travel a delight.
Madhya Pradesh Welcomes Vande Bharat Trains: On the 27th of June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two Vande Bharat trains in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. These trains, namely Bhopal-Indore and Bhopal-Jabalpur, will mark a significant milestone in bolstering connectivity within the state.
