Jaipur: The number of newborns who died in JK Lone Government Hospital in Kota, Rajasthan has now reached 110. At the same time, the panel made by the state government has said in its report that the cause of death of children is hypothermia (body temperature imbalance). Lack of basic facilities in the hospital may also be the reason.

The committee constituted by the Government of Rajasthan to find out the cause of child deaths confirmed in its report that infants died due to hypothermia. Hypothermia is an emergency when the body temperature drops below 95 F (35 ° C). By the way, the normal body temperature is 98.6 F (37 ° C). The report said that the children in the hospital kept dying due to cold and there were not enough life-saving equipment here.

Newborns should have a body temperature of 36.5 ° C, so they were kept on warmers, where their body temperature is normal. However, there was a shortage of warmers working in the hospital and the body temperature of the children also kept falling. It has been reported in the report that 22 out of 28 nebulizers were found to be dysfunctional. At the same time, 81 out of 111 infusion pumps were not working and the condition of para monitors and pulse oximeters was also poor.
