INX Media case: Court granted anticipatory bail of P Chidambaram's fellow

New Delhi: A special CBI court today granted interim bail to six bureaucrats who worked with former finance minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram, accused in the INX Media corruption and money laundering case. Former officers who have been granted interim bail include Ajit Kumar Dungdung, Ravindra Prasad, Pradeep Kumar Bagga, Prabodh Saxena, Anup's priest, Sindhushree Khullar.

All these officers used to work in the finance ministry when P. Chidambaram used to be the finance minister. These officers were in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB). Along with this, the court has issued a notice to the CBI asking them to answer on the bail of these officers. The next hearing of this case will be held on 17 December.

Let us tell you that after the dramatic events that lasted for two days, CBI arrested Chidambaram from his residence in Delhi on August 21. Chidambaram is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. However, the Supreme Court has granted bail in the case filed by the CBI in the INX Media corruption case. But in this case, he could not get bail in the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. On his bail plea, the top court has reserved the verdict after completing the hearing.
