Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), in collaboration with Humsafar India, a Delhi-based start-up, has launched a small-quantity diesel delivery service. Fuel Humsafar, a mobile app-based service, has started delivering diesel in 20-litre 'Safar20' jerry cans to customers' doorsteps in Patiala and the new district of Malerkotla in Punjab.

Customers seeking diesel in quantities as low as 20 litres will benefit from the service, according to IOC. The services are offered in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Maharashtra, Assam, Kerala, Gujarat, Goa, and the National Capital Region (NCR), which includes Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad, according to the OMC. The service comes after the company began providing diesel door delivery to bulk supply customers.

"Earlier, consumers had to buy diesel in barrels from retail outlets, which resulted in a lot of spillage and wasted mileage in energy procurement. There was a lack of efficient energy distribution infrastructure "Founder and Director of Humsafar India, Sanya Goel, said.

"Furthermore, we've taken advantage of technology to create Fuel Humsafar, a user-friendly app that allows for easy ordering and tracking of the priceless fuel." Small housing societies, malls, hospitals, banks, construction sites, farmers, mobile towers, education institutes, and small industries are expected to benefit from the new service.
