Iran is capable of refining uranium. But it is for the leadership of the country to decide what level of uranium it needs. The Deputy Chief of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization has said this through the institution's website. It is noteworthy that uranium refined to a high extent is used in making nuclear weapons. A high level of scientific skill is required to produce that level of uranium.

Deputy Chief Ali Asghar Zarine said, "The leadership of Iran has to take a decision at this time." According to that decision, the Atomic Energy Organization will refine uranium to any extent. Iran had said earlier this month that by withdrawing from the agreement reached with six powerful countries, including the US, in 2015, it could end the uranium refining limit.

For your information, let us tell you that at the moment it is cooperating with the UN inspectors and following the agreement, they are allowing them to inspect the nuclear plant. Iran is currently refining uranium to the extent mentioned in the agreement. This refinement is sufficient for generating nuclear electricity and for the peaceful use of uranium. Under the agreement, Iran can store only 1,200 kg of purified uranium.
