Irrfan Khan will star in the sequel to 'Hindi Medium'

Irrfan Khan, notable for his excellent acting skills and playing versatile roles, now plans to act in a sequel to the hit film Hindi Medium. In Hindi Medium, Irrfan played the role of Raj Batra, a Delhi-based rich businessman who plays various tactics to provide his daughter with the best education. The film was directed by Saket Chaudhary. However, the sequel will not be directed by him. Irrfan will play the same character, that of Raj Batra in the sequel too. The female lead and the director of the film are not finalised yet. The film will be jointly produced by Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar.

“The story fast-forwards by a decade and the daughter Piya grows into a teenage girl in the sequel”, according to a source. Though the story and character will be changed the theme of the film will revolve around Indian Education System.

Irrfan, a National School of Drama product, started his Bollywood career with the critically acclaimed film Salaam Bombay, directed by Mira Nair where he played a small role as a letter writer. Since then he has proved his acting talent in numerous Bollywood and Hollywood films and garnered fame and critical acclaim worldwide.
