Lucknow: The Muslim side has reached the Supreme Court against the order for carbon dating and scientific survey of the alleged Shivling found in the disputed Gyanvapi campus in Varanasi. The order of the Allahabad High Court has been challenged before the bench of Chief Justice (CJI) DY Chandrachud on behalf of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee. Accepting this petition, the Supreme Court has also agreed to hear it soon. This petition will be heard on Friday, May 19.
The Hindu side was already apprehensive of the Muslim side going to the Supreme Court. In view of this, on Tuesday (May 16) itself, the Hindu side had filed a caveat in the Supreme Court. Hindu side's lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain, while filing a caveat in the top court, urged that no order should be passed without hearing his side. Let us tell you that Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra of the Allahabad High Court last Friday ordered the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct a scientific survey of the 'Shivling' found in the Gyanvapi campus and conduct carbon dating to determine its age, nature and structure.
The Hindu side has been claiming the disputed premises as its own, arguing that Aurangzeb had demolished the temple of Kashi Vishwanath and built a mosque there and it should be handed over to them as it is a very important center of faith for them. At the same time, the Muslim side opposed it. When the Hindu side approached the court, the court ordered a survey to find out the truth, which was also opposed by the Muslim side. However, after a lot of struggle, a survey was done and a Shivling-like shape was found in Gyanvapi's Vajukhana, then the Muslim side started calling it a fountain. Now is that Shivling or a fountain? To know this, when carbon dating is being done, the Muslim side has reached the Supreme Court to stop it. This raises the question that why the Muslim side does not want to let the truth come out? Does he know that, that figure is Shivling only, but does not want to give it? Because, He told that the date of the history is recorded till the date of demolition of the temple.
