Amritsar: Election strategist Prashant Kishore (PK), who was the principal advisor to CM Amarinder Singh, has resigned from his post ahead of next year's proposed assembly elections. He has said that he too wants to take a break from public life and active politics for some time. Prashant Kishore in a letter to CM Captain Amarinder Singh said, "I cannot take over as your Principal Advisor. I have yet to decide what to do next. Therefore, I request you to relieve me of this responsibility. Thank you for choosing me.'

It may be recalled that Prashant Kishore was appointed as the Principal Advisor to Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh in March this year. On this, CM Amarinder Singh had said that he will work with Prashant Kishore for the betterment of the people of Punjab. Meanwhile, according to media reports, the party high command is trying to get Prashant Kishore into the party to cross the sinking of the Congress. The wind also picked up like last month's election strategist Prashant Kishore met former Congress President Rahul Gandhi at his residence in Delhi on Tuesday (July 13, 2021). According to reports, several senior party leaders including Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal, and Punjab affairs in-charge Harish Rawat were present during the meeting. Though the meeting was about the deepening political crisis in Chhattisgarh, there is speculation that he may soon be inducted into a big post in the party.

According to sources, the entire blueprint for the inclusion of Prashant Kishore in Congress has almost been prepared. On the advice of Prashant Kishore, a Special Advisory Committee will be constituted in the party which will report directly to the interim president of the party Sonia Gandhi.  Moreover, in order to save the sinking of the Congress, Prashant Kishore's blueprint has been discussed in depth during the last three weeks. it is believed that PK may be given the post of party general secretary so that he can report directly to Sonia Gandhi. It remains to be seen how PK take forward the Congress which is fighting to save its existence.
