Bengaluru: Ishant Sharma was included in the Test series against New Zealand, but he was injured at that time and the team management had placed a condition that after passing the fitness test, he was included in the team. Ishant is now fit and will join Team India for the Test series in New Zealand.

Ishant suffered a knee injury in the Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha at Arun Jaitley Stadium. This injury was of grade-3, due to which Ishant was instructed to rest for 6 weeks. Now Ishant Sharma is ready to return after getting fit from injury and for this, he has thanked National Cricket Academy (NCA) trainer Ashish Kaushik.

Ishant tweeted on Saturday that he wrote, "It has been a roller coaster ride for me after a knee injury on January 20, but with the help of Ashish Kaushik, I was able to complete the journey. A little scared of the scan Was but today I am happy that I am fit. Thank you Ashish Kaushik." The first Test match between India and New Zealand starts on 21 February.
