On Wednesday, host FC Goa defeated Northeast United 2–0 in the sixth season match of the Hero Indian Super League played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here to regain the top spot in the table. Goa took a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute with a suicide goal from Mislav Komorski and then won the match 2–0 in the 82nd minute with a goal from Pheran Korominas on penalties.

This is the eighth goal of the season for Corominas and he has reached the joint first position with Roy Krishna of ATK in the list of most goalscorer players this season. Both have now scored eight goals. This was Goa's 100th goal in its 100th match in ISL history. This was the 50th match of the ISL played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

This is FC Goa's seventh win in 12 matches and the team now has 24 points and has reached the top of the table. At the same time, Northeast United have suffered the fifth defeat in 10 matches and the team is at eighth position with 11 points. Goa created many opportunities in the first half, but the team could not achieve the lead. In the 38th minute, Brendan Fernandez of Goa was shown a yellow card. Brendan has received a yellow card for the fourth time this season and will no longer be able to play in the next match. After that, in the 80th minute Jose Ludo of Northeast was handed a red card. Ludo was given this red card due to the dropping of Corominas inside the box, which was his second red card of the season. After showing Ludo a red card, the referee gave Goa a penalty in the 82nd minute and Carominas converted it into a goal and put FC Goa 2–0 ahead. It was the 49th goal for Carminas for Goa. Goa upheld this score and won the match 2–0.
