Britain: MP David Amess has been stabbed to death in England. David Amess, 69, has been a continuous MP from Southend west of the Conservative Party since 1997. The dead MP was counted among those close to current England PM Boris Johnson. According to media reports, the incident took place late on Friday night (October 15, 2021).

David Amess has been stabbed several times in a church in Leh-on-Sea. Local police have termed the incident as an act of terror. According to police, the arrested 25-year-old attacker is related to Islamic extremism. The Counter-Terrorism Command is investigating the incident. The killer is said to be a British citizen. The investigating agencies are checking at 2 different locations in London. British PM Boris Johnson has expressed grief over the incident. Boris Johnson tweeted, "We are all saddened and shocked by the death of Sir David Amess. He was one of the kindest and most gentle people in politics.''

Labour party leader Kir Stormer has also expressed grief over the same incident. In his tweet, he wrote, 'This is terrible and shocking news. I'm thinking of Sir David, his family and his staff.' Former England PM and Conservative leader David Cameron has also condoled the same incident. In his tweet, he wrote, "The Leh-on-Sea is bringing very worrying and frightening news. My thoughts are with Sir David Amess and his family.''
