The Israel-Hamas war has reached its 54th day, with recent developments including the release of 12 hostages by Hamas and 30 Palestinian prisoners freed by Israel. This comes as part of a ceasefire deal that has been extended for an additional two days.

So far, Hamas has released a total of 81 hostages, while Israel has freed 180 prisoners. The United States has also provided aid to the region, airlifting over 54,000 pounds of medical supplies and food to a staging area in Egypt. Turkey has also stepped in, planning to set up field hospitals and offer health services in Gaza. However, tensions between Israel and Hamas have recently risen, with accusations of ceasefire violations from both sides.

Despite this, the international community has shown support for the extension of the ceasefire and the release of all hostages. Antisemitism incidents have also seen a sharp increase, particularly in Germany. The United Nations Secretary-General has called for a long-term truce, the release of all hostages, and the protection of civilians.

The United States has lifted more than 54,000 pounds of medical supplies and food aid intended for Gaza to a location in Egypt, in line with a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. 
The White House stated that American officials do not perceive any signs of Hamas militants refusing to release American hostages in Gaza to gain leverage. According to US authorities, Hamas is holding between eight to nine Americans captive subsequent to the release of a four-year-old girl.
