RAMALLAH, West Bank - Israeli military forces announced on Tuesday that they had dealt with suspected Hamas militants who were found hiding in a hospital in Jenin, a city in the occupied West Bank. According to the military, these militants were allegedly planning an imminent attack.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant revealed on Monday night that certain units stationed in Gaza were being relocated to the northern border with Lebanon. This move comes amidst ongoing efforts by international negotiators to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, who have been engaged in conflict.

The focus of Israeli ground forces, supported by tanks, has been on Khan Yunis, the hometown of Yahya Sinwar, a prominent Hamas leader in Gaza. The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported artillery fire near the Al-Amal hospital overnight.

According to the Israeli military, the targeted operations included raids on Yahya Sinwar’s office, military installations, and a significant rocket manufacturing facility.

Overnight Israeli airstrikes in Gaza resulted in the deaths of 128 individuals, as reported by the health ministry in the Palestinian territory controlled by Hamas.

One of the individuals targeted was identified as Mohammed Jalamneh, 27, from Jenin. The military claims he had connections with Hamas leadership abroad and was allegedly planning an attack. The two others were said to be militants from the area.

The military declined to confirm whether the three individuals were killed in the operation, but Voice of Palestine radio reported three Palestinian casualties at the hospital.

The surge in violence in the West Bank follows an attack on October 7th, which escalated tensions and led to the outbreak of conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
