Israeli airstrikes overnight claimed the lives of at least 62 people in various parts of the Gaza Strip, as reported by the territory's press office on Thursday, JANUARY 11.

The attacks specifically targeted civilian residences in the southern areas of Rafah and Khan Younis, resulting in the death of at least 12 Palestinians and causing injuries to dozens. Anadolu Agency (AA) noted that Israeli warplanes struck the Abu Namous family home in Khan Younis, leading to the tragic deaths of seven individuals, including women and children, with 25 others sustaining injuries.

In a separate incident, five people lost their lives, and numerous others were injured when strikes hit a home in the northern region of Rafah, including a shelter for displaced individuals.

Earlier, local authorities disclosed that an Israeli airstrike in the central Gaza Strip resulted in the death and injury of at least 40 Palestinians. The strike targeted a house near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah city, an area previously designated as a "safe zone" by the Israeli army. This development challenges the notion of any secure spaces within Gaza, as emphasized by the Gazan Media Office.

On the same day, six individuals, including four paramedics, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on an ambulance in Deir al-Balah. The paramedics were transporting injured individuals at the time of the attack, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent. While the Israeli army spokesperson stated that the incident is under investigation, the U.N. Human Rights Office affirmed the deaths and accused Israel of putting civilians at risk by directing residents from other parts of Gaza to flee to Deir al-Balah amid ongoing airstrikes.

Over the past 10 days, more than 40 Palestinians have lost their lives in four separate attacks in the town.
