BANGALORE: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has conveyed its appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent tour of the ISRO command centre in Bangalore. The visit took place on Saturday, during which PM Modi was taken through the operational facilities of the space agency.
Promptly after the visit, ISRO utilized its official Twitter account to express its gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his presence at the space agency's command centre. On the same day, Prime Minister Modi took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to the dedicated team of ISRO scientists who played an integral role in the Chandrayaan-3 initiative, leading to the momentous achievement of India's lunar landing on the unexplored southern pole of the moon on August 24th. This historic achievement solidified India's position as the first nation to successfully place a lander in this region of the moon.
In a tweet on Saturday, PM Modi shared his experience, stating, "Engaging with our brilliant @isro scientists in Bangalore. The triumphant culmination of the Chandrayaan-3 mission marks an unparalleled juncture in India's space exploration narrative."
ISRO conveyed its appreciation through its official Twitter account, posting, "Dhanyavaad, Respected Prime Minister of India Shri @narendramodiji".
Notably, despite being away attending the BRICS Summit in South Africa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took special care to bear witness to the historic Chandrayaan-3 lunar landing on August 24. Upon his return from the two-nation diplomatic visit, Prime Minister Modi promptly visited ISRO to commend and honor the accomplished scientists who brought the challenging lunar landing mission to fruition.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi was personally received by ISRO Chief S Somanath. A gesture of acknowledgment followed by a congratulatory embrace symbolized the recognition of the successful execution of this ambitious lunar landing mission.
In an address to the public, Prime Minister Modi became visibly moved when recollecting the intense final 15 minutes of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. In honor of this achievement, he proclaimed the 23rd of August as 'National Space Day'. Additionally, he designated the landing site of Chandrayaan-3 as 'ShivShakti' and the impact point of Chandrayaan-2 as the 'Tiranga Point'.
Subsequently, a group photograph featuring the accomplished team of scientists behind the Chandrayaan-3 project was taken with Prime Minister Modi. Before concluding his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi enthusiastically reiterated the slogan, 'Jai Vigyan Jai Anusandhan' (Hail Science, Hail Research).
