New Delhi: The Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to launch Chandrayaan-3 in August this year. Two years ago, during the moon mission, ISRO's spacecraft hit the surface of the moon and thus failed.

In fact, the Department of Space had issued a timeline in response to questions related to the delay in the moon mission in the lower house of parliament. In a written reply, the Department of Space said that work on Chandrayaan-3 is going on based on the learnings from the Chandrayaan-2 mission and suggestions from global experts. The department further said that it has completed the necessary tests and the launch has been scheduled for August 2022. Replying to questions about the reasons for the continuous delay in the mission, Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said that many ongoing missions have been affected due to the Corona pandemic.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the priority of the projects has been fixed in the backdrop of space sector reforms and the newly introduced demand-driven model. The Chandrayaan-3 mission was supposed to be launched in 2021 but has been delayed due to the pandemic.
