New Delhi [India], Feb 6: Indian fans always remember all the excitement about women's cricket after the women's world cup final. All the glistering ceremonies and receptions held in the honor of the world cup finalists. All the talk about how women's cricket has finally arrived and how BCCI was going to do its dammed best to carry it for forward. It was nearly seven month before India women were in the final against England.

India produce a clinical all-round performance to thrash hosts South Africa by 88 runs in the first ODI of the ICC Women's Championship at Diamond Oval in Kimberley on Monday. Smriti Mandhana scores a strokeful 84 off 98 balls while pace duo of Jhulan Goswami (4/24) and Shikha Pandey (3/23) share seven wickets between them to emerge as the architects of India's victory.

But no one in India was able to see team perform. There was no broadcast as the 3rd and 4th best team in women's cricket clashed. Both the Indian men and women cricket teams are playing a One-Day International series in South Africa. The men are currently playing a bilateral ODI series while the women are competing in the first fixture of ODI championship to qualify for the next World Cup.
