The government also said that the loan moratorium is the government's financial policy issue and the government has taken several measures in view of the COVID-19 crisis.

This was said by the government due to the hearing on the petitions opposing the levy of interest during loan moratorium. The government said that this is not a case in which the government has done nothing. Referring to the reliefs given by the government, the Solicitor General said that in this case, the court should no longer order any further order, even if the petitioners argue that it could have been done better.

Describing the strategy of waiving interest on interest on loans up to two crores, Mehta said that the responsibility of implementing it is that of banks, for this, consumers should not need to remind banks of the scheme. A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan, hearing the case, praised the government's plan to waive interest on interest for the benefit of small borrowers and said that the main petition should be disposed of. The power generating companies also appealed to the court for relief. The court has asked the Reserve Bank of India to file its suggestions in response to the reliefs being sought by the power generating companies in the loan moratorium scheme.
