Srinagar: A Special Police Officer (SPO) Adil Bashir who run off with eight firearms last week, has joined the Hizbul Mujahideen terror group on Monday. His Pictures posing with an AK-47 rifle alongside Hizbul chief Zeenat-ul-Islam went viral on social media today.

The police stated that they have identified the civilian with whose help Bashir, who is a resident of Shopian district, managed to escape with seven AK-47 Rifles and a pistol on September 28 from the official residence of MLA Aijaz Mir in Jawahar Nagar area, Srinagar.

The MLA was present in Jammu when the incident took place .The police have apprehended 10 of the legislator’s personal security guards for inquiry.He has joined Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in Shopian.

Basheer was posted at PDP MLA Aijaz Ahmad Mir’s house in Srinagar’s Jawahar Nagar area. He went missing with the arms from the guard room at the residence of Mir.He is an MLA from the Wachi constituency. He run away Five AK-47 rifles, four INSAS rifle and a pistol. An alert was sounded across the Kashmir Valley to track down the traitor, the police said. Police also informed that A reward of Rs 2 lakh was announced on any information leading to his apprehend.
