New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s membership drive has come to an end. The campaign to create active members will now begin in September. This was disclosed by BJP Executive Chairman JP Nadda. J.P. Nadda said, "Our membership campaign is over, but our membership process will continue. Now, the campaign to create active members will begin in September."

Nadda said that West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir have seen a particular trend in the BJP's membership. He said that in West Bengal, more people have joined  BJP, which has a population of 1 crore.  Nadda said, "The number of members in the past was 11 crore."

J P Nadda said that more than 5.81 crore people have joined the party online and 62,35,967 people through offline. The total number of registrations being done through the manual form goes up to Rs. 7 crore. Nadda has said that the total number of BJP members has reached close to 18 crore, which is the figure after the party added seven crore new members during its recent membership drive.
