Jagan Reddy lays foundation stone of Vizag Tech Park

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for Rs 21,844 crore Vizag Tech Park in Visakhapatnam, an official statement said.

The Adani Group is spending Rs 21,844 crores to build a 200 MW integrated data centre, technology park, and business park in Maduravada, Visakhapatnam, according to a statement outlining the project's specifics.

The group also announced that it would spend an additional Rs 7,210 crores in Kapuluppada to build a 100 MW integrated data centre and business park.

"These initiatives are expected to create 10,610 indirect jobs and offer 39,815 direct jobs. Industrialist Gautam Adani's decision to build a hyperscale data centre in Visakhapatnam will result in a significant increase in data speed and internet bandwidth, fostering the expansion of IT and IT-related services, generating a significant number of high-tech jobs, and lowering service costs, according to a statement.

"The Skill University and Skill Centres to be established in connection with the Data Centre will promote skill development among youth and enhance the quality of life for employees through the Business Park Recreation Centres, the statement further said. 

The Tech Park would provide direct employment to 39,815 people in a phased manner more than seven  years and indirect employment to 10,610 persons. The Data Centre, consisting of skill development centres, Integrated Technology business parks,  and recreation facilities, would strengthen internet speed and also improve connectivity, the minister said, adding that it would also work as a game-changer, providing a major fillip to the general development of the area.

The Vizag Technical Park, better known as Adani Data Centre, coming up in 190-acre area, would consist of a 200-MegaWatt Integrated Data Centre at Madhurawada and a 100-MW Integrated Data Centre at Kapuluppada with an investment of Rs. 14,634 crore and Rs 7,210 crore respectively.
