Jaipur Police has taken a big step in order to make Jaipur beggar-free, all the beggars of the district are being marked and their complete profile is being made. The work of rehabilitation of these beggars has been started on August 15. Of the 1196 beggars identified, five are graduates and postgraduates are also included. According to the skill of the beggars, efforts will be made to give them work opportunities. The focus will also on the education of their children.

In the lockdown, there was a big crisis on the livelihood of beggars. During this period, the eyes of DGP Bhupendra Singh Yadav went to these beggars. He gave the responsibility of rehabilitation of beggars to Jaipur Police under social concerns. Jaipur police started the work towards making the city beggar-free and made four different teams and prepared a complete profile of 1196 beggars. Criteria like education, health, age, gender, skill were included to identify the beggars.

When the profile was prepared, it was revealed that 5 of them have studied up to UG and PG. While 193 beggars have studied from class one to 12 and 39 are illiterate. Of the 1196 beggars, 231 know the work of celibacy, then 103 can work as masons. 27 know how to read and write, 59 of catering, 9 of scrap, 7 can work as busboys in hotels, 2 can work as servants, 9 can work as home guards and 7 can do cleaning work. Of the total beggars, 117 are ready to do any work, while there are 160 beggars who do not want to do any work. During the rehabilitation of 12 beggars, 5 of them have been found corona infected.
