New Delhi: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is talking about the much-awaited peace process with his Afghanistan counterpart Muhammad Hanif Atmar on Wednesday. The purpose of this peace process is to end the conflict in Afghanistan for nearly two decades. The foreign minister said on Twitter that he has reaffirmed India's 'development alliance' with the Afghans and is discussing recent developments. The External Affairs Minister on Wednesday shared a video of himself in which he is participating in the 'Fit India Freedom Run' campaign.

President Ashraf Ghani has agreed to release 400 Taliban prisoners just 10 days before this telephonic conversation between Jaishankar and Afghan acting foreign minister Atmar. Only after this the peace process has paved the way for the release. Jaishankar tweeted, 'I had a meaningful discussion with Afghan Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar. Congratulated him on Afghan Independence Day. Significantly, India is a major party in peace and stability in Afghanistan. India has invested in aid and reconstruction activities there.'

In addition, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar participated in the 'Fit India Freedom Run' campaign on Wednesday. He also released a video in which he is seen jogging and doing various physical exercises. In his tweet along with the video, the External Affairs Minister said that keep running in the direction of fit, healthy and happy India. keep growing. The Fit India Freedom Run has been started by the Sports Department under the Fit India campaign. The campaign was started by Prime Minister Modi to spread awareness about fitness in the country.
