LOS ANGELES: Hollywood Filmmaker James Wan is already planning planning to turn horror movie 'M3GAN' into franchise.

The 45-year-old filmproducer is legendary for the new sci-fi horror flick about a robotic doll that becomes extremely protective of a child and he explained how the flick could develop into a franchise, reports aceshowbiz.com.
In response, James said, "We prefer to conceive of a wider world, whether it's The Conjuring Universe, "Saw," "Malignant," or "M3GAN" here.

For me, establishing an universe involves knowing the characters and where the tale may go, developing a larger world, and then entering that world and saying, "Okay, I'm telling this particular story, but I know other things that's going on." "So if we're fortunate enough to have sequels, then we have an idea of where we want to go," the filmmaker continued. Gerard Johnstone, the director of the movie "M3GAN," which stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw, recently discussed how the movie underwent reshoots to receive a PG-13 rating.

Making it PG-13 was something that happened after the fact, but it was always close to PG-13 regardless, the director told Total Film magazine. " Not embracing it seemed like a mistake in a way. Even at the beginning, I recall thinking, "This could be PG-13, yet some of my favourite movies, like "Drag Me to Hell," are PG-13." We actually reshot a few scenes after deciding to go with PG-13." Johnstone asserted that the retakes actually improved the image's quality. He stated: "The fact that those scenes were more potent when we reshot them made me quite happy. Yes, you do have to cut away occasionally, but it's entertaining to have to rely so heavily on sound and inference."
