Jammu: Jawans have detained Muzammil Sheikh alias Abu Maviya, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist from Hajin Bandipora. Tools and ammunition have been recovered from him. A spokesperson issued in a statement said that police have received information from a source that terrorists have been moving in Hajin city for some time for subversive activities.

Based on this tahrir, bandipora police 13 RR, IRP 21st battalion and 45 BN CRPF blockaded Gund Jahangir area. Naka checking saw the movement of a suspect and he was caught on suspicion. The arrested suspect identified himself as Muzammil Sheikh alias Abu Maviya of Chandergir Hajin.

Joined the Lashkar-e-Taiba organisation:-
Police seized objectionable material as well as live weapons and ammunition including a Chinese pistol and live rounds from the suspect. The statement said the arrested suspect had recently joined the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit and was tasked with carrying out subversive activities in and around Hajin city. At present, an FIR has been lodged at Hajin police station under relevant sections of the law in this regard and further investigation has been initiated.
