Srinagar: A sealed packet was found in the Samba district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The packet was found on a farm in Vijaypur. The packet is suspected to have been dropped in Samba through drones from Pakistan. Security agencies are investigating the case. At the same time, the security forces have taken possession of the packet.
According to the report, after the packet was found, security agencies called the bomb disposal squad to the spot for investigation. Additional SP Surinder Chaudhary said that on the basis of credible information, a police team of Vijaypur police station today recovered a sealed packet in the field near Chhani Manhasan in Samba. On the receipt of the packet, the official said that it is suspected that the sealed packet was dropped through a drone from across the border and there is a possibility of an explosive device, weapons, or drug consignment. The villagers had informed the police about the receipt of the packet. At the same time, the spot was cordoned off for security.
Samba SSP informed that, at 6.15 am on Thursday, a local citizen told us that a sealed packet was in the field. After getting information, when we reached the spot and opened the packet, we recovered Rs 5 lakh Indian currency, 2 Chinese pistols, 4 magazines, 60 rounds, 1 steel improvised explosive device (IED), several batteries, and a watch. Abhishek Mahajan congratulated his team and said that the local citizens also deserve congratulations, who showed alertness.
