Jammu: Two people have been arrested for attempting to smuggle 25 cattle in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police has given information in this regard. In connection with the incident, police said that 25 cattle were being taken illegally from four vehicles on the Mughal road connecting Jammu's border Rajouri and Poonch districts with Shopian district of South Kashmir.

After the Jiscui secret information was received by the police, the police started searching the vehicles by laying nets, in which 25 cattle have been found. Along with this, the police have also confiscated all the four vehicles. Giving information, the police spokesman said that the police team patrolling these four vehicles have been caught. Two vehicles were parked near Mughal Road in Thanamandi area and two others were arrested at the post. Police said the drivers of the two vehicles, Shair Shabir and Shabir Ahmed, have been arrested.

Police said that the poet Shabir is a resident of Khabalan while Shabir Ahmed is a resident of Shopia. Search is on for the remaining two drivers. Four cases have been registered in connection with this incident. It was told that the Mughal route was opened for one-way traffic on Sunday morning. He was closed for more than a month due to heavy snowfall in and around Pir Ki Gali.
