Srinagar: A big decision can be taken by this evening whether or not the Amarnath Yatra will take place this year. The Deputy Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu has called a meeting on this matter at three in the afternoon. Preparations for this year's Amarnath Yatra have been completed a long time ago, now everyone's eyes are fixed on the LG meeting.

This year's Amarnath Yatra was scheduled to begin on June 23, but due to the lockdown, it has not started yet. LG Girish Chandra Murmu of Jammu and Kashmir, as Chairman of the Amarnath Shrine Board, will meet today and meet all government departments and security agencies and review the situation and take a final decision. Preparations have been completed for the pilgrims coming for the journey before the decision is taken. There has been a huge reduction in the langars that are being held every year, but the langars which are installed there are all provisions to fight the corona and now the wait is on for the pilgrims who are coming on the bus journey.

Earlier in June, the Shrine Board had decided to conduct the yatra only through the Baltal route and decided to postpone the yatra due to the non-completion of preparations through traditional Pahalgam. Covid Hospital has also been constructed for Amarnath pilgrims.
