Jammu and Kashmir: Muslim cleric Adil Ghafoor Ganai has been arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police. The arrest has been made for using derogatory remarks against suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. A video of the indecent remarks made by the Muslim cleric had gone viral on social media, taking cognizance of which the police registered an FIR against him. Muslim cleric Adil Ghafoor Ganai made a provocative speech on Thursday, June 09 from a mosque in Bhaderwah in the Doda district. Here Adil Ghafoor Ganai gave a provocative speech and said, "They get the air as soon as they get the air from our Barkat, the water they get from the valleys, they get it from our Barkat, otherwise what is their existence?" If the government does not hold the necks of those opposing Azaan, those opposing the hijab, we will cut the necks of those people. Will those Nupur Sharmas meet their heads elsewhere?'
Muslim clerics were heard instigating people outside the mosque, and the video of that time went viral on social media. As the video went viral, the police imposed a curfew given the tension and internet services were suspended. Not only this, but on the viral video, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had registered an FIR against Muslim cleric Adil Ghafoor Ganai under serious sections. Now the police have arrested Muslim cleric Adil Ghafoor Ganai. Noopur Sharma, a suspended spokesperson from the BJP, had made controversial remarks on The Prophet Mohammad, the leader of the Muslim religion.

In the meantime, YouTuber Faisal Wani of Kashmir had posted an objectionable video about former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, which has gone viral on social media. After the controversy over that viral post escalated, Kashmir's YouTuber Faisal Wani apologised but now the Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested Faisal Wani.
