The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference is scheduled to meet with the Delimitation Commission on Monday in New Delhi. The Delimitation Commission is meeting for the second time.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh and BJP leader Jugal Kishore Sharma, as well as National Conference members Farooq Abdullah, Hasnain Masoodi, and Mohammad Akbar Lone, are expected to attend today's meeting.
The Central Government has established a Delimitation Commission, chaired by Justice (Retd.) Ranjana Prakash Desai, to delimit Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai stated that the delimitation of constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir will be completed as soon as possible, adding that the commission conducted extensive consultations with various stakeholders in the Union Territory.
He stated that the Commission had extensive consultations with various stakeholders such as the State Election Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Secretary, the Registrar General of India, the Surveyor General of India, and District Election Officers from all 20 districts.
