Srinagar: A case of desecration of the Quran, the holy book of Muslims, has come to light at Khan Mosque in the Gojwara area of the Srinagar district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Here a man picked up the Quran and threw it in the water. In this case, the accused Irshad Ahmad Mir of Maloora in Srinagar has been arrested by the police after conducting an overnight raid. Srinagar Police has said that the mental condition of the accused is not right. A case has been registered under relevant sections at the Nowhatta police station. Srinagar Police has given information about this whole matter in a tweet.
In the Muslim religion, any kind of desecration of the Quran is considered a serious crime. Due to its desecration, there is often a danger of communal harmony and peace and tranquillity deteriorating. Many times riots and people have also been killed in many places only due to the insult of the Quran. Therefore, there was a lot of pressure in front of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to immediately arrest the person responsible for this sacrilege incident of the Quran, so that peace could be maintained in the valley. Had this not been done, anti-social elements could have found an excuse to spread violence under the cover of this incident.
On the one hand, while the case of desecration of the Quran has come to light in the Kashmir Valley, on the other hand, in the month of July, a young man of the Valley also created a new world record by writing the Quran on a 500-meter long paper. Mustafa-ibn-Jamil of Bandipora in Kashmir has set this record by writing the Quran on a 500-meter-long paper. Mustafa-ibn-Jameel, a calligrapher by profession, completed this work in 7 months.
