Budgam: Security forces have achieved a major breakthrough in the Mochwa area of Budgam district of The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning. According to Kashmir police, intelligence input of terrorist hiding was found here. Security personnel cordoned off the entire area and asked them to surrender the militants.
However, the encounter started when the terrorists opened fire. One terrorist has been killed in this time. An AK-47 rifle and a pistol were recovered from the spot. Security forces are presently deployed at the spot and further action is on. It is yet to be ascertained which group of terrorists was killed in the encounter. According to information provided by Jammu and Kashmir Police, an explosion took place in the Banihal area of Ramban district in a separate incident in the Union Territory on Friday evening.
According to reports, two persons including a minor were injured in the blast late in the evening. The injured have been rushed to the hospital for treatment. The blast took place between the office of MG Company and the residence of the employees. According to officials, police have registered a case and are investigating. A search operation is also underway in the area.
