Srinagar: Security forces have foiled a major conspiracy of terrorists in Kupwara of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces have got IED in Kupwara. According to the report, this IED has been recovered near the army camp during a routine check. Officials informed that an IED was recovered by a team of joint forces at Woodipora in Langate Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district this morning.

The explosive was detected during a routine patrol by the Army's 30RR and police near the local army camp, following which the security forces blocked the road and stopped the movement of people and vehicles, the official said. A bomb disposal squad was then called in, which defused the explosive without damaging any property. At the same time, the police confirmed the matter and said that a case has been registered and an investigation has been started.

On the other hand, Imran Bashir, a hybrid terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has been killed in an anti-militancy operation in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Imran was killed in an encounter between militants and security forces 78 hours after two Hindus were killed in Shopian's Nowgam area. The Shopian encounter is very close to the spot where a Kashmiri Pandit was shot.
