Militants attack BJP leader Anwar Khan in J&K, guard martyred

Srinagar: Another terror attack has been reported from Jammu and Kashmir. This time, the attack took off at Nowgam in Srinagar, targeting BJP leader Anwar Khan. According to information, the attack took place at Anwar Khan's house, one guard killed in this incident.

In fact, the police reported that one guard was seriously injured in the attack, and later the guard died. Earlier on Monday, militants shot dead a member of the Block Development Council (BDS) and their private security personnel in Sopore in Baramulla district. Police had said that the unidentified gunmen entered the Sopore municipality complex at around 9.15 pm on Monday afternoon and shot independent BDC member Riaz Ahmed and his security personnel Shafqat Ahmed. He said Riaz and Shafqat died at the scene. The council meeting was underway at the time of the incident.

Another member, Shamshuddin Peer, was also injured in the terror attack, officials said. Peer is shot in the thigh and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. Inspector-General of Police (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar held a review meeting with senior security officials in the area after an on-the-spot visit.
