Jammu: Spectacular Shobha Yatra taken out on eve of Maha Shivratri

JAMMU KASHMIR: On the eve of Maha Shivratri, an impressive Shoba Yatra was held in Jammu. Onkar Sharma (Nandi Ji), head of the Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee (SRMWC), in conjunction with the J&K Dharmarth Trust, conducted the Shobha Yatra. 

The Shobha Yatra started at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple and culminated there after passing through all of the Old City's major bazaars, including Indira Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazaar Chowk, Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, Old Hospital Road, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Mubarak Mandi, Upper Bazaar, Pacca Danga, Moti B.

The massive parade, which featured tableaus displayed on elaborately adorned vehicles and depicting mythical scenarios and events surrounding the marriage of Bhagwan Shiva and Goddess Parvati, was attended by believers and saints from all parts of the city. Many followers gathered along the route in various bazaars and chowks to welcome the Shoba Yatra and showered them with flower petals.

The UT administration made sure that there were strict security measures in place around the city to ensure the success of the Shobha Yatra. To make the plans solid and guarantee an incident-free yatra, several senior police officers also marked their presence during the procession.

Also, when the religious procession moved through the bazaars of Jammu city, the route of the procession was decked with buntings and flowers at various locations. Along with his wife Ritu Singh, Ajatshatru Singh, trustee of the J&K Dharmarth Trust took part in the Shobha Yatra at the Shree Ranbireshwar Temple.

Ajay Gandotra, president of the J&K Dharmarth Trust, Varinder Singh, additional secretary, and Ashok Kumar Sharma also accompanied Ajatshatru Singh on the occasion. At the Ranbireshwar Temple before, Ajatshatru Singh conducted Puja Archana and other rites.

Ajatshatru Singh thanked the citizens of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri while interacting with the media. He claimed that the festival's commemoration is an important piece of our illustrious cultural legacy, representing the virtues of piety, devotion, and brotherhood. He hoped that the festivities for this auspicious occasion will enhance the communal unity of J&K. He also prayed for peace, prosperity, and the welfare of the people in the UT. According to Ajatshatru Singh, the Trust has made outstanding efforts to improve the holy sites in J&K and is always trying to give visitors to the temples and shrines in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir state-of-the-amenities.
