Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's latest release, 'Jawan,' made its global debut on Thursday, September 7, and it has kicked off with a dazzling start at the box office. Early estimates suggest that Atlee's directorial venture, which also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, has the potential to become the biggest Bollywood opener in history.

According to reports from the trade portal Sacnilk, 'Jawan' raked in an impressive Rs.75 crore on its opening day across all languages in the domestic market, with an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 58.67 percent. This achievement has outshone Shah Rukh Khan's previous release, 'Pathaan,' which had also enjoyed considerable success with an opening day collection of around Rs.57 crore.

On the day of 'Jawan's' release, fans enthusiastically recreated SRK's iconic open-arm pose, while others danced to drumbeats and even poured milk on enormous cutouts of Shah Rukh Khan outside cinemas all over the country, setting the stage for an exuberant launch.

At its core, 'Jawan' tells a poignant father-son tale, with Shah Rukh Khan portraying a multifaceted character, encompassing a soldier, a romantic hero, and a Robin Hood-esque figure who takes on the collusion between politicians and businessmen.

The film also delves into critical societal issues such as government indifference, corruption, farmer suicides, a crumbling healthcare system, substandard army weaponry, and hazardous factories situated in residential areas. In one pivotal scene, the protagonist encourages the common people to make informed voting decisions.

Presented by Red Chillies Entertainment, 'Jawan' is produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. This pan-Indian thriller, available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, is directed by renowned South Indian filmmaker Atlee. 'Jawan' marks Shah Rukh Khan's second film of the year, following 'Pathaan.'

The star-studded cast also includes Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, and Mukesh Chhabra, with Deepika Padukone making a special appearance.
