Patna: The counting of votes for the MLC elections in Bihar is underway. This time, 187 candidates have tried their luck for 24 seats. Polling was held in 24 seats on April 4. The NDA is contesting on 11 seats, the JDU is contesting on 11 seats and the BJP on 12 seats. In Nalanda legislative council elections, JDU candidate Reena Yadav has won the election by 3000 votes. Ramnaresh Prasad Singh of LJP came in second place. In third place was Veermani alias Veeran Yadav of the RJD who had to be satisfied with just 500 votes.

BJP candidate Dilip Kumar Singh won the Aurangabad Legislative Council elections by 279 votes. Dilip Kumar Singh got 1794 votes and RJD candidate Anuj Kumar Singh got 1515 votes. BJP's Dilip Jaiswal has won the MLC seat from Purnea, though a formal announcement is yet to be made.  

In the MLC election, the results of Muzaffarpur in Bihar have come out. Dinesh Singh has won the MLC seat here. He defeated Shambhu Singh of the RJD. The counting of votes for the MLC elections held in Bihar's capital Patna is underway. A counting centre has been set up at Aryabhatta Gyan Vishwavidyalaya.
