Lucknow: A case of theft of jewelery worth Rs 1.75 crore has come to light from four more lockers of Central Bank located at Karachi Khana in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Thus far, diamond and gold jewelery worth Rs 2.55 crore has gone missing from the lockers of seven customers. Police has constituted SIT to investigate the matter. Police has also swung into action after four new cases came to the fore in the investigation of 56 lockers in the presence of police and bank officers on Tuesday.

The police has registered a report on the complaint of the account holders. Earlier, jewelery worth Rs 50 lakh was stolen from the locker of two women and Rs 30 lakh from the locker of a CA. The complaint of the fourth case of theft from the locker has been registered at Filkhana police station. In this case, the police have taken two bank employees to the police station. Pankaj Kumar Gupta, a resident of Badshahi Naka, works as a grocery. He has more than 15 years old locker in the Central Bank. He had reached the bank on Monday, but his key was not found in the locker. On Tuesday he again reached the bank. By noon there was a ruckus in the bank.

After the arrival of the field general manager, Pankaj's locker was opened at two o'clock with the help of Godrej's expert team, then the ground slipped under his feet. There was no jewelry in the locker. At 6 pm, two lockers of Vijay and Vaibhav Maheshwari, residents of Cantt, were checked. In one, jewelery worth about 30 lakhs was missing. In the investigation, which lasted till 9 pm, jewelery worth Rs 80 lakh and Rs 35 lakh is suspected to be missing from the lockers of Lalbangla resident Meena Yadav and Shantinagar resident Nirmala Tahaliyani respectively. However, both did not complain till late night.
