Jamshedpur: Beldih Church School in Jamshedpur district of Jharkhand has suspended 17 of its students shouting slogans of Jayshree Ram in sports. During the launch break, a group of students of class 12 was shouting slogans of Jai Shri Ram in a sports game on the school premises. When the information reached the principal, he called a meeting of the disciplinary committee. Calling sloganeering indiscipline in the meeting, 17 students chanting slogans have been suspended for five days.
The school management has punished all the students for not coming to school for five days. The parents complained to the District Superintendent of Education. The complaint states that the matter relates to the religious sentiment of Hindu society. Ankit Anand, the founder of Shiksha Satyagraha said that the matter is related to Hindu society. The action on shouting Jai Shri Ram's slogan is utterly wrong. School Principal L. Peterson has said in his clarification that there has been a dispute in MNPS over the incident of raising slogans in the school premises.
