Jamshedpur: A series of cases have been reported from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand in which a mother enraged by her son's love marriage hacked the pregnant daughter-in-law to death with an axe. This led to his loss of life on the spot. In fact, the mother was saddened by the son's love marriage to his cousin sister. One day, after a dispute, the woman attacked the pregnant daughter-in-law with an axe.

According to reports, Geeta Lyak's son Deenbandhu had married his cousin in Janta Pahadhar village of Chauka police station area despite several family protests. The two are said to have had an affair for a long time. Mother Geeta had been unhappy for a long time with her son's actions.

He had gone out of the Deenbandhu house last Sunday. This led to a quarrel between Geeta Lyak and her daughter-in-law over something. In this, Geeta Lyak lost her temper and attacked her daughter-in-law with an axe. Family members took him to a hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. Dinabandhu's wife is also said to be pregnant. Police rushed to the spot as soon as the case was reported. According to police, the culprit Geeta Lyak has been taken into custody and the case is under investigation.
