JORDAN:: According to Jordan's Health Ministry, the Covid-19 pandemic has entered its third wave, with weekly infections reaching almost 20,000 cases.
The fact that the positive test rate has risen to 8% is concerning, according to Adel Balbisi, Secretary General of the Health Ministry, as quoted by the state-run news agency. However, according to Balbisi, the hospital's capability for treating patients is still at "comfortable levels," since the percentage of ICU, isolation, and ventilator beds occupied has not yet surpassed 30%.
In Jordan, Covid-19 vaccines are sufficient, he said, urging citizens and residents to get immunised, according to news reports. On Sunday, Jordan confirmed 14 deaths and 3,579 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of deaths to 11,361 and the number of infections to 914,849.
