JP Nadda claims that NDA govt is committed to progress of the common man

New Delhi: BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda congratulated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates on their victories in by-elections across the country on Tuesday, saying the party was committed to the overall development of the common man under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

In a tweet, Nadda said, I congratulate the workers and express my thanks to the people for the success of BJP and NDA in the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections," He said, under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the NDA governments are continuously committed to the overall development of the common man by taking the basic mantra of Antyodaya.

On Tuesday, the BJP-led alliance in Assam won all five byelections. The BJP won two of the three Assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh, as well as the Khandwa Lok Sabha seat. Both Tarapur and Kusheshwar Asthan Assembly seats in Bihar were retained by the Janata Dal (United), a constituent of the NDA.

In Karnataka, the BJP won the Sindgi Assembly byelections, but lost the Hangal seat to the Congress. The BJP suffered a setback in Himachal Pradesh, where the Congress party won three Assembly seats in bypolls held on October 30. The Mandi Parliamentary constituency was also won by the Congress. Similarly, the Congress swept the by-elections in Rajasthan, winning both the Dhariawad and Vallabhnagar Assembly seats.
