Just Hours after becoming CM, Kamal Nath clears farm loan waiver in MP, CM Bhupesh Baghel also promises in Chhattishgarh

New Delhi: Just few Hours after taking oath  as MP CM on Monday, Kamal Nath cleared the proposal of waiving farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh. In addition his Chhattisgarh counterpart Bhupesh Baghel has also announced a far loan waiver to execute the promise made by Congress president Rahul Gandhi ahead of assembly polls.

After CM  Nath inked the relevant file, Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary, Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, issued an order with this respect. The official order stated, "Madhya Pradesh Government has taken a decision to write off short-term crop loan of eligible farmers up to the limit of Rs two lakh, as on March 31, 2018, from nationalised and cooperative banks."

On the other hand Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel stated that his government will waive short-term agri loans of farmers. Baghel while addressing the press meet hours after taking oath as the CM further stated that the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy has also been raised to Rs 2500 from Rs 1700 per quintal.

Another important decision taken in the Cabinet was that a Special inquiry Team will be formed to investigate the 2013 Jhiram valley Naxal attack in Bastar district, where 29 people, including senior Congress leaders, were killed, as he added.
