Indore: BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has strongly criticized Chief Minister Kamal Nath for refusing to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Madhya Pradesh. Vijayvargiya said that he should read the constitution. At the same time, he further said that all the states are bound to implement the new citizenship law.
Vijayvargiya told the media on Wednesday, 25 December 2019, that he (Kamal Nath) should read the constitution of the country. Where once a bill is passed by the Parliament and becomes a law, all the states are bound to implement it under Article 252 of the Constitution. At the same time, part 11 of the Constitution of India determines the relationship between the Central Government and the State Governments. It includes Articles 245 to Article 263.
According to information received from sources, Vijayvargiya said that it is quite unfortunate to say such unconstitutional things by a person sitting on a constitutional post. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi is also opposing the citizenship law. When asked about this, Vijayvargiya said that whatever BJP will do, they will oppose it.
